'Charlie's Angels' Reboot Casts Ramon Rodriguez as Bosley

Ramon RodriguezThe last piece of major 'Charlie's Angels' casting has fallen into place with the news that 'The Wire alum, Ramón Rodríguez, has been cast as Bosley.

According to TVLine.com, Rodríguez's verison of Bosley will be "a charming and funny guy with 'GQ' looks and Peter Pan smile who has great hacking skills and technical knowledge." So, just like David Doyle's character in the original, then?

Rodriguez joins previously cast Minka Kelly ('Friday Night Lights'), Rachael Taylor ('Transformers') and Annie Ilonzeh ('General Hospital') in the new series.

And, if reports are true, he'll be taking orders from Robert Wagner, who's said to be in talks to play the eponymous Charlie.

Rodríguez's previous TV credits include recurring roles on 'The Wire' and 'Rescue Me.' He's also appeared in movies such as 'The Taking of Pelham 123' and 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.'

The new 'Charlie's Angels' is said to be much darker and way less campy than either the original show or the McG movie franchise. Unlike the 'Dallas' reboot that's also currently underway, the 'Angels' writers have ruled out having the original cast members involved.

However, Rodríguez's Bosley will apparently continue the 'Angels' tradition of being the rock that the Angels lean on for support as well as being the subject of many good-natured jokes. There's been no confirmation yet as to whether "Charlie" will continue to be just a voice in a box on Bosley's desk.

Production on the pilot episode is slated to begin in March, and ABC execs will decide on its fate by mid-Spring. If it's a "go," then you can expect it to hit TV screens in the fall.
