Lady Gaga performed at "A Decade of Difference" concert and channeled her best Marilyn Monroe. Appearing onstage atop a tree house, the superstar rocked the tousled trademark blonde hair, red lips, and over sized glasses of the movie star.
Sitting at the piano in a tan gown, she purred "Happy Birthday" to President Clinton, who is celebrating his 65th, before she belted out "Born This Way." In her tribute to the actress, who sang for President Kennedy, she told the audience, "I always wanted a Marilyn moment -- but didn't want it to involve pills and pearls."
But he was warned: Bill Clinton admitted that when he invited Lady Gaga, she told him her idea. The president, who had a quadruple bypass in 2004, joked, "I got nervous when Gaga said she was planning to have a Marilyn moment and I thought 'I will have a heart attack for my 65th birthday.'"
Instead of a Marilyn moment, what fans got was pure Gaga. The megastar changed the words of "Bad Romance" to "Bill Romance." To the surprise of the president, his wife, and his daughter, the singer proceeded to strip off her dress to reveal a tan body suit underneath -- and serenade the president, who was sitting just a few feet away from the dance diva. But the Lady won over the former First Family, who were caught up in the performance, dancing to the beat.
Before the end of her set, Lady Gaga had one last trick up her sleeve. The quick-change artist added one last shocker: a jacket that made her look topless. As Lady Gaga made it clear, nobody can top that.

Kim Kardashian Will Play Movie with Shah Rukh Khan

Meanwhile, Kim was enjoying her visit to Dubai. She divides herexcitement over being in one of the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates.

Kim Kardashian admits she and her sisters are “trannies” (about makeup)

I’ve spent way too much looking at photos of Kim Kardashian’s crazy face. Often I just stare at photos of her, trying to pinpoint exactly what is happening, plastic-surgery-wise. There’s a nose job, some eye work, lip injections, Electrolysis to remove facial hair and change her hairline, and, of course, regular Botox injections, but those are the only things that I can really identify using older photos of Kim as a reference. But it’s only in the last year or so that I’ve begun to understand why Kim looks to alien-like most of the time - she wears a crapload of makeup. In particular, eye-makeup, and she must wear the biggest, most drag-queeny fake eyelashes out there, because they look scary. Now Kim (and her sisters) are admitting something that we’ve known for a long time: they’re “trannies” - about makeup, at least.

As I’ve been discussing for more than a month now, Shane Warne and Liz Hurley are absolutely perfect for each other, and they have decided to make each other the happiest cat-faces in the world! Liz tweeted the above photo, of Liz being lit from the dazzling glare coming off of Shane’s new teeth, with the message, “Thanks for all your congratulations.” What were people congratulating her about? Well, it seems that Friday night, Shane proposed to Liz in St. Andrews, Scotland, where they went on a golfing holiday. Huzzah! Liz and Shane have been together at least ten months (that we know of), including the time they spent having an affair whil Liz was still married to Arun Nayar. Happy news for Elizabeth Hurley! The Gossip Girl actress and model, 46, is engaged to her boyfriend of 10 months, Australian cricketer Shane Warne.
Reportedly getting down on bended knee at the Old Course Hotel in Scotland Friday, Warne, 42, is said to have proposed during dinner at the hotel’s Road Hole Restaurant.
Though a hotel source declined to comment on the couple’s dinner, a source confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly.
“They are engaged!” reports the insider.
Flashing a giant sapphire and diamond engagement sparkler Saturday, Hurley Tweeted a photo of the pair prior to their dinner, along with the message “Thanks for all your congratulations.” Warne then copied the message onto his own Twitter page and circulated it to his followers.
It will be the second marriage for both Warne and Hurley, who finalized her divorce from hubby of four years Arun Nayar in June.

L.A. Reid Explains Why He Dropped Lady Gaga From Island Def Jam

Lady Gaga's meteoric rise to superstardom can be attributed to her catchy songs, shocking costumes, and wild media antics.
But her perseverance is arguably the personality trait that has benefitted her career the most.
This week, L.A. Reid, "X Factor" judge and former president of Island Def Jam, confirmed reports that he stalled Lady Gaga's music pursuits early in her career. Reid signed the "Born This Way" singer to IDJ but released her from her contract within a few months.
Reid explained his dealings with Gaga during an interview with Access Hollywood. "One day this artist came to my office. She played piano. She had white gogo boots all the way up to here, thigh high boots. She sat down at that piano and she played and she sang and when she was done I said, 'You are an amazing artist, and you will change music.' And I signed her. Her name was Lady Gaga," Reid said.
But when Reid heard Gaga's demos three months later, he had a change of heart. "It was a work in progress, and I was having a bad day," Reid said. "I said, ‘You know, I really don't like it. You know, let her have her freedom. Let her have her career. Let her go find it.' It was the worst thing I've ever done."
Lady Gaga cried for an entire day after receiving the news, the artist said during an interview for the MTV special, "Lady Gaga: Inside The Outside."
But she got over it, ultimately landing a record deal with Interscope Records, a company that supported her artistic vision and helped her become one of pop music's biggest stars.
Lady Gaga is one of many of today's household names that were also rejected by major labels before landing big breaks. 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, and Beyoncé were also met with similar setbacks.
Alicia Keys had been signed to Columbia Records for two years before her recording contract was terminated and she pursued other options.

It's A Girl For '30 Rock's' Tina Fey & Husband Jeff Richmond

Tina Fey has welcomed a new addition to the family -- another baby girl.

The "30 Rock" star and her husband, Jeffrey Richmond, welcomed baby Penelope Athena on Wednesday, the actress' rep confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Penelope Athena is the couple's second daughter. Their first child, Alice, is 5.

It was back in April, while appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," that Tina first confirmed she was pregnant.

The new baby will give husband Jeff a second chance at diaper duty.

In GQ's May issue, the "Bossypants" author said her husband was good at everything to do with Alice, everything but diaper duty.

"My husband was really good about helping out. The problem was diapers. He never got past the poop," Tina previously told the mag. "He would do these [gagging noise] 'Oh God, I'm gonna vomit.' Never got over it."

Since 2008's Good Girl Gone Bad album release, Rihanna has chopped her locks into a bob, a mohawk, a half-shaved pompadour, a mushroom with blond streaks and most recently, she's been rocking a steady stream of various red wigs - with one in particular giving her the unflattering nickname of Sideshow Bob of The Simpsons fame.

Just listing some of her hair changes makes my scalp itch. As the saying goes,beauty is pain and in the case of Rihanna, it's not only her scalp that may be in pain, but also her wallet. Ursula Stephen, a top celebrity stylist, who has worked with RiRi since the beginning of her career, charges the style star about $3,200 a day, which totals out to about $23,000 a week, according to the Daily Mail. According to a member of her entourage, in additon to giving Rihanna hairstyles that keeps her name a buzz, she's also become a close friend of hers, which could be another reason why she may not be willing to let go of the expensive hairdresser. "Rihanna likes to pioneer new styles but it's costing her a fotune. Ursula is a close confidant and they are together all the time."

Maybe one day Rihanna can do like us regular folk and learn to DIY her looks. On the bright side, at least she doesn't have a $1 million collection of wigs (ahem, Beyonce) and hasn't said she may need to start using Rogaine (ahem, Lady Gaga).

Jennifer Lopez's Wax Figure Gets Official Relaunch, Hit or Miss?

Jennifer Lopez's likeness has been immortalized (again) thanks to the help of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, who relaunched the singer's newly molded statue in Hollywood, Calif. yesterday (August 1).

The recently single singer's wax figure was reworked and received a makeover (make-under?), complete with a brand new 'do, dress and apparently some facial reconstruction for the famous museum's Hollywood gallery.




Lopez is on display in wax at multiple Madame Tussauds' locations including Las Vegas, London, Washington, D.C. and New York.

J.Lo's statue stands among a slew of celebs whose famous figures also received the wax treatment.

Tussauds was spot-on with their riveting replica of Alicia Keys, which they used to redeem themselves after their Justin Bieber bomb -- a figure that really missed the mark.

Unfortunately, we fear Jennifer's figure didn't fare much better than Bieber's. The figure's frigid pose is pretty off-putting, not to mention the death stare shooting from statue's evil eyes!

It's almost as if the house of Tussauds foresaw the future and predicted the Lopez/Marc Anthony divorce announcement while they were at work on the wax doppelganger.

Lady Gaga Gave Cher a Meh Song

Lady Gaga and her right-hand producer RedOne have given Cher a song for the legendary diva's upcoming album, her first since 2001's Living Proof! But it's a Gaga castoff and kind of blah. Considering Cher kindly held Gaga's meat purse at the VMAs last year, she probably deserved better than "The Greatest Thing," a cheesy mid-tempo with generic synths and warbly Auto-Tuned vocals (on the Gaga-sung demo Pop Dust dug up at least). And yet Cher seems thrilled!

Rihanna Is The New Queen Of Facebook, Beating Out Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga may be the top earning woman in music, have more followers on Twitter than any other lady rock star and receive more media coverage than her female competitors, but she is no longer the queen of Facebook.
This week, Rihanna accumulated enough likes on Facebook to surpass Lady Gaga and claim the throne as the platform's top ranking female celebrity.
According to their Facebook stats, as of Saturday, Rihanna had 40,699,853 likes, and Lady Gaga had 40,611,908, giving the "Rude Boy" singer a lead of 88,000.
Shakira is the diva with the third most Facebook followers, according to Famecount.com, which credits the Latina singer with 37 million likes. Aside from being the top three female musicians on Facebook, they also have earned spots in Facebook's top 10 pages overall. Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Shakira hold the No. 5, 6, and 8, positions, respectively.
There are three men on the Top Facebook Pages Worldwide list as well. Eminem ranks No. 3 with 43,367,713 likes. The late Michael Jackson sits at No. 7 with 38,069,882 likes, and "Baby" singer Justin Bieber holds the No. 10 position with 33,035,903 likes.

Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Split

After seven years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have separated, their rep tells Us Weekly exclusively.

"We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters," they said in a statement. "It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
The couple are parents to three-year-old twins Max and Emme.
Crooner Anthony, 42, was conspicuously absent at Saturday's star-packed BAFTA Brits to Watch bash in L.A., where wife Lopez, 40, met Prince William and Duchess Kate with mom Guadalupe as her date.

Friends for years, Lopez and Anthony dated briefly in the 1990s. They stepped out again as a couple in early 2004, shortly after Lopez's broken engagement from Ben Affleck, and in the midst of Anthony's divorce from first wife, former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. They wed at a quiet home wedding in June 2004.

Sin embargo, la banda decidió romper con la tradición en esta ocasión con I'm With You, su décimo álbum de estudio, que está previsto para el 30 de agosto. Irónicamente, fue al nuevo miembro de la banda, Josh Klinghoffer, al que se le ocurrió el título.

Kindred Makes Magic

 

Lots going on over here at Groove headquarters, so we're going to keep things short this week. And honestly, there isn't much I can say about Kindred the Family Soul... Well, that's not true. In fact, the opposite is true but sometimes the music just needs to speak for itself.

That said, the married duo of Aja and Fatin make the kind of music that makes you want to fall in love if you're not and reminds you how hard you love if you are. They do it again with "Magic Happen," the first official single, from their upcoming album, Love Has No Recession, due July 26th. Check out the video below.

Stones Throw Records is a predominantly Hip-Hop label, specializing in "indie" acts like Madlib, Percee P and the label head, Peanut Butter Wolf. Somehow, a soul drenched whiteboy from the outskirts of Detroit made his way there. His name is Mayer Hawthorne and his sound is reminiscent of the soul samples you hear on Hip-Hop tracks from producers like 9th Wonder and the late J Dilla. His sound is an amalgam of the best memories of real Soul music hugged by the present-day electro-Hip-Hop soul-sampled production that has defined the indie rap scene. The combination is a total marriage in the package of a man that could pass for an English professor. How's that for a winning combination?

Why Buying The Deluxe Edition Of Beyonce's "4" Album Is Worth It

 

By now, thanks to us, you've heard Beyonce's "4" album in it's entirety, but it's Target that got the honors of exclusively offering the album's deluxe edition (out tomorrow). With six extra tracks, three of which are remixes to the already severely sound-layered "Run The World (Girls)," fans get the opportunity to get more bang for the buck. And in Bey's case, it's well worth it.

There's no denying that "4" starts off slow, quite literally. There's four back-to-back ballads that alternate feelings between being madly in love in an us-against-the-world​ kind of way that's made for movies ("1+1") and being angrily resentful of a no-good no-name-mentioned man that certainly didn't deserve the little bit of time you gave him ("Best Thing I Never Had"). Thankfully, "Party" featuring Andre 3000 and a term-coining Kanye West ("swagu" seems here to stay, folks) enters the playlist next, but despite it's early '90s groove, it's mid-tempo barely makes you break a sweat. And so, you find yourself back at square one, with more ballads, some that channel the '60s Supremes ("Rather Die Young") and others that are overwrought with regret and hopes for redemption ("Start Over").

Once again the inevitable, yet inexplicable, comparisons between 'Twilight' and 'Harry Potter' have arrived.

OMG! Robert Pattinson Debuts Crazy, Half-Shaved Haircut

Avert your eyes, R-Patz fans: Robert Pattinson's world-famous locks got a drastic, crazy makeover this week.

Signing autographs and taking pictures with fans in the wee hours early Thursday, the Twilight hunk, 25, was photographed with a startling new haircut -- long and floppy on one side, raggedly buzzed on another.

What gives? It turns out the intense new look is all about his art. Pattinson is currently shooting the trippy thriller Cosmopolis, based on author Don Delillo's acclaimed novel. In one scene in the book, protagonist Eric Parker (played Pattinson in the film) freaks out during a haircut -- fleeing the barber's shop in the middle of the procedure.
Pattinson has, of course, chopped his locks for a role before, going much shorter for his role in Water for Elephants.

The superstar has said he never uses shampoo to wash his hair. "I just use water. No one ever believes me, but it's true."
